* IMPORTANT CLOSING DATE *
ALL ORDERS for December and January must be received in the Office by NOVEMBER 25. Delivery cannot be guaranteed prior to Christmas for any orders received after this date.
It is that time of the year when we need to think of the Annual General Meeting of the Association, and also of the Christmas Orders closing date so that you give us time to order (in case of any supply issues) and to dispatch them. (Note details in box above.)
The AGM will be held on Saturday October 15th at 2pm in the Nurses’ Memorial Centre – in the ‘Fawkner Towers’ Building on the corner of St Kilda Road and Slater Street Melbourne. The entrance is approx. 20 metres up Slater Street. Following the business of the AGM there will be a most interesting presentation on the early Stoma Appliances then the opportunity to chat with other members over afternoon tea and to the Reps from the ostomy products suppliers who will be in attendance.
Included with this Newsletter is a Nomination Form for election to the Committee of this Association. Please do give this serious consideration, as in order for the Association to continue we need our members to participate. One way of doing this, is to serve on the Committee. All members need to understand that without an active Committee we will cease to exist. If you wish to discuss nominating for Committee, please contact Terry Carver, the President, on a Monday in the Office 03 9650 9040.
PLACING YOUR ORDERS: Orders can be placed in one of following ways –
by Fax 03 9650 1723; and by post: P.O.Box 32 FLINDERS LANE VIC 8009
PLEASE NOTE: Unfinancial members will not receive their supplies until their membership for 2016 / 2017 has been paid
A REMINDER: the Office is open MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 9am – 2pm
GENERAL NEWS: Our Lease on the rooms in the Block Building expires in April 2017 and we expect that there will be a considerable increase in our rent. Thus, the Committee has made the decision that we look for new premises. These will have to be within the outer CBD, serviced by public transport and preferably with car parking. Hopefully this should be achievable with a bonus of a more reasonable rental. It will be a sad day to leave The Block building after approximately 58 years but we cannot survive with the rates we are now paying.
At the 2015 AGM, members were informed that this association (the Ileostomy Association (Vic) Inc) was in discussion with the Ostomy Association of Melbourne Inc, of a possible Merger between the two associations. The Committee of IAVic wishes to advise all members that this proposed Merger will no longer take place and that this association will continue as the Ileostomy Association (Vic) Inc.
